A Ducks fan’s definitive guide to the good, the great, and the grellow.
When you mention the Ducks, the first thing that might pop into your mind is Marcus Mariota, The Duck, or even Autzen itself. But if you’re here at FEBU, you’re in the know. For the casual college football fan, the very first thing they think of will almost always be the jerseys. And honestly, that’s a good thing. Oregon has spent decades building its identity on innovation, flash, and swagger. There isn’t a single weekend where ESPN drops its “Top Uniform Combos” list and Oregon doesn’t show up. Most schools rotate between two basic colors; meanwhile, last season the Ducks didn’t even wear a predominantly yellow jersey. So what am I on about? Well, it’s still technically preseason, and I’m tired of vague X posts and insiders hinting about injuries. I need a distraction — so let’s run through my top jersey combos, a few that deserve to be burned in a fire, and for some reason… a Cal jersey.
Just missed the cut
These combos are ones I like but just missed out on making the list. Still Bold and Beautiful you could probably make a real argument to move them up but that’s what the comment section is for.
2021 vs Colorado The yellow and black is just mean and crisp there’s no green but you don’t really need it.
2024 B1G Championship I believe this was the first year with this template, the Black jerseys had been worn during the year but the paring with the Green helmet just brought a whole look to them . or was that the win?
OHANA Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind.. We cant leave these off any list enough said
B-Tier
Let’s get the actual list started. Just because it’s B-tier doesn’t mean these are trash, our B’s are other teams best of all time. These combos are unique and had the others jealous .
2014’s ’94 Throwbacks I love these it’s hard to beat a classic throwback and for some people this might their top overall.
2015 Rosebowl It’s the ROSEBOWL! These were as amazing as the game. Everyone remembers Jemeis famous fumble and the return for the Td , We wont talk about the next game.
2015 Fighting Ducks vs Michigan State Big play VA was dealing! We didn’t pull of the W but these all whites were iconic
2017 Stomp out Cancer Stomp it out , White, Silver and a Duck . These were Flash and sold a good message you can argue with me but these were gorgeous.
2011 National Championship Dyer was down This was the first time I remember Oregon repping the Volt, back to back losses is probably why we didn’t see much more of the Volt but it looked so good on LaMichael
A Tier
This is where greatness really starts to shine. These are the combos that feel timeless the second you see them, the ones you wouldn’t be shocked to see brought back as throwbacks one day. When I fire up College Football 27, these are the jerseys I’m scrolling to immediately for my online games. They’re clean, they’re iconic, and they’re everything Oregon football is supposed to look like
2009 Blackout vs Arizona State Blount just came back from suspension and so the Ducks wore all black to ASU’s funeral
2010 vs Portland State I don’t know why I love these so much the Green and gray combo just looked so good this day
2021 Eggshell Some hate these but I cant bring myself to not love them. I really wish I grabbed one of these jerseys.
2018 The Duck I haven’t mean soul that has anything bad to say about these. Yeah Orange isn’t a school color but how many other teams are changing their jersey to look like College Footballs most iconic Mascto?
2007 Stormtrooper As far as I can recall this was the FIRST iteration of the Stormtrooper look and man did I love the diamond plate template too. JStew was a dog.
S-Tier
This is Peak. My top 3 jerseys every other fanbase is jealous of ESPN and other media spent segment after segment talking about these. When people talk about Oregon being the .standard bearer for college football uniforms, these are the looks they’re picturing. They’re the ones you show someone who’s never watched a Ducks game and say, “This is what we do.” No debate, no hesitation, no second guessing
2025 Shoeduck The dual winged helmet , the marble, everything about this set is of the Gods I’ve nevber sprinted to the Duckstore website so fast to buy a jersey and pray it arrived before gameday.
’98 Throwbacks I don’t know how they can be both nostalgic and modern at the same time but they pulled it off. Deep green, classic numbers, crisp layout paired with the beautiful retro yellow helmet. If you find one of these for sale hit your boy up I need one of these jerseys.
2012 Rosebowl THE FIRST appearance of Chrome helmets. This game had it all , the last second spike , Chip jumping up and down pointing at a fumble, DAT breaking through the line for 6. All second fiddle to those mirror finished helmets . We started this trend and others are still trying to repoicate it.
Now Time for the trash
No one likes to do chores but these need to be burned with fire and never mentioned again, except when I need clicks. Sometimes when you’re swinging for the fences you hit a foul ball, well not only were these foul balls but you might have pulled a muscle trying to hit these . Someone need to write Elon an email asking him if he can send these straight into the sun.
Grellow helmets I don’t know what they were smoking when they came up with these but Roboduck can take them and go searching for sasquatch
2017- Citius Altius Fortius I get what they were going for but maybe this should have just been a practice jersey. Blue collar cotton Tshirts are not a jersey template and the only good thing about these jerseys is that no one watched this game
California Webfoots I don’t know why they decided to wear Cal jerseys to play Washington that year but that game and these jerseys should have burned down with the library in Alexandria .
