The Race for First Just Got Interesting
AgentPK steals the bonus point, Sco catches Kellz at the top, and with most of the league separated by just a few points, the FEBU Pick’em race is officially wide open.
For most of the season, it felt like this thing was headed toward a Kellz coronation.
Week after week, Kellz kept finding a way to stay on top while the rest of us spent Saturdays explaining why our upset picks made sense at the time.
Not anymore.
After another strong week, Sco has officially caught Kellz in the standings and the two now sit tied for first place.
The road to get there wasn’t easy.
Both Sco and AgentPK finished Week 9 with impressive 7-2 records, navigating a tough slate of conference games that tripped up plenty of players along the way.
While Sco gained ground in the standings, AgentPK picked up the coveted bonus point after finishing closest to the final score.
A huge week at exactly the right time.
Updated Leaderboard
🥇 Kellz - Tied for 1st
🥇 Sco - Tied for 1st
🥉 Tyler - Just 2 points back
The craziest part?
Most of the field sits within four points of the lead.
A month ago it looked like the standings were starting to separate.
Now it feels like practically everyone still has a realistic shot at taking home the title.
One great week could put somebody in first.
One bad week could drop a contender several spots.
Exactly the kind of chaos we’re looking for.
A Quick Duck Update
The Ducks finally remembered they were allowed to score points.
After several weeks of offensive frustration, Oregon turned in a surprisingly strong offensive performance and looked far more comfortable moving the football than we’ve become accustomed to.
Even better, Dakorien Moore finally got his long-awaited 100-yard game.
Considering how explosive he can be, it felt less like a surprise and more like something that was overdue.
Hopefully it’s the first of several.
The Offensive Coordinator Debate
The bigger Oregon conversation this week isn’t about Illinois.
It’s about the future.
If Oregon decides to make another move offensively after the season, who would fans rather have calling plays?
Option 1: Mike Norvell
Recently out of a job and still respected as an offensive mind, Norvell would bring experience and a proven track record developing quarterbacks and building creative offenses.
Option 2: Chip Kelly
The prodigal son.
No explanation needed.
The mere mention of Chip Kelly immediately divides the fanbase into two groups:
“Bring him home immediately.” “Let’s remember how this ended the first time.”
Personally, I think I lean toward Norvell, but judging by conversations around the fanbase, this one feels pretty split.
Either way, it’s a debate that probably isn’t going away anytime soon.
