The Ducks wasted a winnable game against UCLA, FEBU Pick’em race continues to tighten.
We Were Promised an Offense, Halfway through the season, Oregon is still looking for one.
Let’s be honest, the UCLA loss wasn’t frustrating because Oregon got outmatched. It was frustrating because the Ducks had opportunities all afternoon and couldn’t take advantage of them.
The defense did its job for the most part, forcing three turnovers and making several big stops when it mattered. The offense, however, never got going and turned in one of the roughest performances Oregon fans have seen in a long time.
The End of the Quarterback Controversy?
For a little while, some fans were wondering if Raiola might make things interesting while Dante Moore was out.
That talk ended pretty quickly on Saturday.
Raiola had a rough day against UCLA, throwing two interceptions, losing a fumble, and making more than a few throws that had Duck fans asking, “What are we doing here?” Nothing ever seemed comfortable or in rhythm, and the offense never really gave anyone confidence that it was going to put together a scoring drive.
Now the conversation isn’t about a quarterback controversy anymore. It’s about how soon Dante Moore can get back on the field. The staff says Moore has been practicing, but that’s about all we know right now. A lot of fans feel like Oregon’s chances against Nebraska improve dramatically if Dante is able to play.
The Lawfirm Needs to Be Disbarred
As bad as the quarterback play was, most fans don’t think Raiola is the biggest problem.
That honor belongs to the offensive line.
We’re six games into the season and it still feels like the coaching staff is throwing things at the wall hoping something sticks. Every week there’s a different combination up front, and nobody seems any closer to knowing what the best five are. At this point, Oregon has tried almost as many offensive line combinations as uniform combinations.
What’s even more concerning is how much help the line needs. The Ducks are keeping extra blockers in protection, sending fewer receivers out into routes, and somehow the quarterback is still running for his life half the time.
The line leaks more than a Eugene apartment roof in the middle of winter.
Most of the frustration from the fan base is directed at the offensive line coach, and it’s not hard to understand why. Six weeks into the season there hasn’t been much visible development, and the same issues keep showing up every Saturday.
Nebraska Comes to Eugene
Unfortunately for Oregon, the schedule doesn’t offer much relief. Nebraska enters this week’s matchup with a 5-1 record and plenty of confidence.
The game kicks off at 8 PM local time in Eugene, and despite everything we’ve seen recently, the Ducks remain favorites. For some reason Nebraska isn’t ranked, but the Cornhuskers have steadily improved and look far stronger than many expected entering the season.
Meanwhile, Oregon is still trying to answer basic questions about its offensive identity.
Can the offensive line protect? (NO)
Can the running game get going? (Probably not)
Will Dante Moore even return this season?
Those questions need answers soon.
October Looks Very Different
A month ago, Oregon fans were talking about conference championships, playoff runs, and where the Ducks might end up in the national rankings.
Now? The conversation feels completely different.
After the UCLA loss, a lot of fans have gone from looking ahead to the postseason to simply looking at the schedule and wondering where the next few wins are coming from.
That’s how fast things can change in college football.
The good news is the talent is still there. This roster is too talented to be playing the way it has on offense.

🔥 Ohio State vs. Indiana
Ohio State enters as a heavy favorite, but Indiana continues to surprise people and could create significant movement in the standings.
🔥 Penn State vs. Michigan
A rivalry game that always seems capable of producing unexpected results.
🔥 Rutgers vs. Maryland
Not the flashiest matchup on the board, but exactly the kind of game that can separate contenders from pretenders in the FEBU standings.
One good week could completely change the leaderboard.
